Hand-Build Ceramic Bookend Planters at Tiny Greenhouse
Hand-Build Ceramic Bookend Planters at Tiny Greenhouse
Some people collect books. Some people collect plants. If you're the kind of person who collects both — this one's for you.
On June 18th, Twin Fish Pottery is taking over Tiny Greenhouse in Brick for an intimate hand-building workshop, and we're making something that belongs on your shelves. A pair of ceramic bookend planters. Handmade by you, start to finish.
Each pair starts as a single clay planter that gets cut in half — giving you a matched set with a flat back that tucks perfectly against your books. They can live on a shelf. They can hang on a wall. Mostly, they can finally fill that gap between your favorite spines.
Functional. Sculptural. Completely one-of-a-kind, because every pair comes from your hands.

The Night
This workshop is small on purpose. Eight spots. All of you together inside Tiny Greenhouse — which, if you haven't been, is exactly what it sounds like: lush, layered, and a little magical. Green everywhere. The kind of place that makes you want to slow down before you've even touched the clay.
Emily walks you through every step of the hand-building process. No experience necessary. If you've never worked with clay before, you're in exactly the right place.
Bring your drinks. Bring your people. Spend 2.5 hours making something that will outlive every reading slump you've ever had.
Your finished pieces head back to Emily's Point Pleasant studio for glazing and firing. She'll reach out when they're ready for pickup.
About Tiny Greenhouse
[Add address here] Brick, NJ
Tiny Greenhouse is the kind of plant shop that feels less like a store and more like stepping into a fairytale. Plants stacked everywhere, light coming through in layers, the whole place alive. It's the right room for a night like this.
About Emily
Hi, I'm Emily — Jersey Shore native, ceramic artist, and the person who will celebrate every single thing you make tonight.
I've been working with clay since elementary school, and for the past decade I've been building Twin Fish Pottery right here on the Shore. I make my own glazes, design my own templates, and genuinely love introducing people to clay for the first time. You don't need experience. You just need to show up.
